9 Departments. One goal.
Building People... who build robots.

​Departments

Because of our team has over 100 members, FIRST Rocky Mountain Robotics Team 662 is split into 9 separate departments that each focus on one specific aspect. Each department is lead by a student Vice President that has specialized knowledge pertaining to the areas the department focuses on and guided by an adult Mentor who shares wisdom and aids in the teaching of the student members.

Drive Train

Designs and builds the base of the robot, making it mobile and allowing for movement.

Manipulator

Designs the main structure of the robot to fit the specific competition each year and creates moving game pieces.

Programming

Writes the code that allows the robot to follow commands and complete game objectives.

CAD (Computer Assisted Design)

Designs the robot and robot parts on a computer before production.

Scouting and Strategy

Determines alliance picks and gathers information about other robots at competitions.

Special Projects

Recreates game pieces used in competition, as well as any other weird stuff the team might need.

Wiring and Pneumatics

Creates wiring that communicates to each part of the robot the information they need and aids in the moving of parts of the robot through pneumatics.

Outreach

Organizes community outreach as well as positive intra-team relations and works on team branding.

Media and Production

Manages social sites and creates digital media that is used to exhibit aspects of the club to new members and sponsors.

Other Student Leaders

CEO

Responsible for the overall organization of the team and administrative tasks such as event planning and team communication, as well as running team meetings and preparing the team for various awards

COO

Supplements the CEO's work by managing behind the scenes affairs such as budgeting and scheduling

Systems Integration Manager

Works with all the departments to ensure robot production runs smoothly and is cohesive

Safety Captain

Monitors and ensure the team's safety throughout all building and processes

Chief Software Architect

Assists the Programming Vice President in educating and monitoring
